Clinton Prison Riot, 1929

Two riots have occurred at Clinton: one in 1907 at the Dannemora State Hospital (now the Clinton Annex), which had opened in 1899 and served inmates who had been declared insane at any point after conviction.  The other riot took place within the prison walls in 1929. The third chapter of Escape from Dannemora chronicles both riots, as well as the causes, investigation, and aftermath of the 1929 prison riot.
